Clinical Trials
Clinical trials play a vital role in developing new and better treatment options. By choosing to enroll in a trial, our patients have access to the latest advances. We are currently conducting clinical trials in several areas, including pancreatitis, celiac disease, Barrett's and other esophageal disorders, liver disease, GI cancer, and biliary disease and motility.
Our clinical trials team is led by Julian Abrams, MD, director of clinical research for the division of digestive and liver diseases.
Our patients benefit from the exciting work being done at the Columbia University Digestive and Liver Diseases Research Center (DLDRC), led by Robert Schwabe, MD, where scientists and clinicians with backgrounds in digestive, liver, and pancreatic conditions come together to explore creative new approaches. Combining expertise in gastroenterology and hepatology with state-of-the-art computational bioinformatics, our center strives to better understand these conditions in order to improve diagnostics, treatments, and prevention.
