Our team is here to help you make an appointment with the specialists that you need.

Voice issues affecting singers, actors, and other performers may impact vocal quality or production. Issues could arise due to a range of causes, including high voice demand, vocal lesions, allergies, reflux, and more. In addition, instrumentalists who play wind instruments may experience breath support or cough issues.
At the Center for the Performing Artist at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, our physicians treat the full range of voice disorders and have specialized expertise in caring for the performing voice. Our specialists can provide expert diagnosis and sophisticated, effective therapies tailored to your specific performance needs. Ear, nose, and throat (ENT) and pulmonary medicine may be involved with these issues.
Voice services at the Center for the Performing Artist are led by Michael Pitman, MD, who is the division chief of laryngology and highly experienced in treating a range of professional performing artists.
