New York City is a vibrant center for the performing arts. Tens of thousands of performers, including dancers, singers, instrumentalists, actors, comedians, and others, live and work in the tri-state area. They are all athletes who need specialty care provided by physicians who understand their particular medical issues and the specific treatments needed to optimize their extreme performance demands.

Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC) is proud to provide an extensive array of clinical services to individuals engaged in the performing arts. Our Otolaryngology, Rehabilitation and Regenerative Medicine, and Orthopedics departments have partnered with other key services to develop a cohesive structure and strategy. Our approach leverages the influence of distinct treatment centers at CUIMC with the goal of easily connecting a performing artist with the right practitioner to treat their unique needs.

The Center for the Performing Artist at CUIMC functions as a virtual center so that our performing artists can benefit from the multidisciplinary expertise of our specialists, while also having access to services at several sites for added flexibility.
