Our team is here to help you make an appointment with the specialists that you need.
Medicinal intervention involves the use of oral and topical medications to treat a variety of painful conditions. It is among the most widely used methods of pain management and can be used as either a primary treatment or a complementary therapy for patients suffering from acute and chronic pain or in the management of postsurgical pain. Intravenous infusions of medications may also be utilized when appropriate and we have the ability to perform this treatment in our facility on an outpatient basis
At the Pain Center, we know that medicinal intervention is about more than just prescribing medication. Our dedicated, multidisciplinary staff of compassionate, highly trained physicians, specialists and have a detailed understanding of each type of medication as well as the body's reaction to it. This knowledge, backed by comprehensive research, clinical trials, and professional expertise, allows us to provide the highest level of quality care to our patients.
The Pain Center utilizes a range of pharmacologic therapies, including:
- Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents (NSAIDs)
- Muscle relaxants
- Bisphosphonates
- Opioids
- Anticonvulsants
- Steroids
- Antidepressants
- Topical medications
Our care providers are committed to helping patients find relief from their discomfort, with the goal of getting them back to leading active, rewarding, pain-free lives. To accomplish this, we work closely with our patients to determine the proper medication and dosage for their needs and develop a personalized treatment plan to manage their pain safely and effectively. Once the medication is prescribed and treatment begins, patients are monitored throughout their therapy to evaluate the drug’s effectiveness as well as any side effects, risk of dependency or potentially dangerous drug interactions.
