Inspire Therapy for Sleep Apnea

Inspire therapy is an implantable device that delivers stimulation to your tongue and airway muscles during sleep. By stimulating these muscles, Inspire therapy prevents collapse of your upper airway and treats obstructive sleep apnea. If you have struggled with CPAP or do not get consistent benefit with CPAP, Inspire therapy may be a valuable treatment option. You use a handheld remote to control Inspire therapy (no mask needed).

Adults may qualify for this therapy if you:

  • Have moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea
  • Are unable to use or tolerate CPAP
  • Have a body mass index (BMI) of around 35 or less
  • Do not have certain diseases or conditions that may disqualify you for this option

Your doctor will evaluate your overall health, your sleep apnea history, review your sleep studies, and perform a detailed assessment of your upper airway to determine if Inspire therapy may be right for you.
