Our pediatric pulmonologists are pioneers in the care of children with lung diseases. We founded one of the first pulmonology programs for children in the country and for over 40 years, have been leaders in diagnosing and treating children and adolescents with a range of respiratory disorders.
Many of our pulmonologists have been recognized as Castle Connolly America's Top Doctors, NY Magazine Best Doctors, Castle Connelly NY Metro Area Top Doctors, Top Doctors of Fairfield County, and Most Distinguished Doctors in Westchester.
Our two biggest programs, the Sarah E. Nash Lung Center and the Sue and John L. Weinberg Cystic Fibrosis Center, are known for the comprehensive management of all acute and chronic lung diseases in infants, children, and adolescents.
Our experts help children with breathing problems such as cough, shortness of breath, wheezing, asthma, noisy breathing, pneumonia, chronic respiratory failure, and breathing-related sleep disorders. Our multidisciplinary team approach brings together nutritionists, social workers, physical and respiratory therapists and specialists from related fields to provide state of the art care.
We have nationally recognized programs dedicated to cystic fibrosis, sleep disorders/apnea, aerodigestive conditions, pulmonary problems associated with neuromuscular disorders (spinal muscular atrophy and muscular dystrophies) and asthma.
We also have expertise in lung disease associated with premature births (BPD – bronchopulmonary dysplasia), heart disease (pulmonary hypertension), interstitial lung disease, lung hypoplasia (primary or secondary to congenital diaphragmatic hernia), recurrent or persistent pneumonia, primary dyskinesia and bronchiectasis. In addition, we offer our high level of care for children dependent on ventilators, oxygen, and other technologies.
